The OSSD is a mandatory high school curriculum for all students in Ontario, Canada, similar to the People's Education Edition textbooks in China and the high school diplomas from Shanghai and Beijing.

  1. Completion of Grade 8 studies with a full transcript.
  2. The age requirement of 14 years old.
  3. English proficiency for Grades 9-10: IELTS 4.0-4.5 or TOEFL 40-60.
  4. English proficiency for Grades 11-12: IELTS 4.5-5.0 or TOEFL 50-70.

Students with TOEFL, IELTS, or other English proficiency test scores must provide them; those without can meet the requirements through an IELTS-level test at an OSSD-designated learning center.

OSSD distance learning credit courses are authorized and recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education. The diploma-granting school is TVO ILC, an academic institution funded and governed by the Ontario government and an online learning partner of the Ontario Ministry of Education. TVO ILC has over 100 years of history and is Canada's largest remote public high school, with over 24,000 students registering for 40,000 courses annually.
TVO ILC is permanently recognized by the Ontario School Board as the authority for granting Ontario and international diplomas and credits. It is the only online Canadian high school recognized by the Canadian Education Bureau. Unlike diplomas issued by private schools, all Canadian universities fully recognize TVO ILC credits without dilution.

OSSD courses are taught by over 200 licensed teachers in Ontario who provide face-to-face and remote support and guidance throughout the learning process. They are proficient in the education system and curriculum, offering personalized assistance to ensure student success.
In authorized learning centers in the Chiang Mai area, offline tutors provide assistance to students, organize students to carry out course-related group projects, and offer homework support.

Many students and parents mistakenly believe that the OSSD system can only apply to Canadian schools. In fact, the OSSD diploma is highly recognized by universities in over 160 countries and regions globally, including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, China, with no issues in applying to mainstream and popular universities in these regions.

As long as students study the OSSD through TVO ILC, the diploma they receive will be issued by TVO ILC (Independent Learning Center) and will be consistent with the diplomas received by Canadian students studying domestically.
